Happy Birthday Trigger!

Isn't he the cutest? Trigger was NOT happy with us for putting a hat on him!  I had to chase him around and then he ran under the table.  He is so funny!

Baseball Season

Jake and I have really been looking forward to this baseball season!  Patrick, Jake's younger brother, is a senior in High School and he plays for the Wake County Home School Worriers.  Jake and I have been away at school for the past 4 years, so we have not been able to watch Patrick play as much as we would like.  Now that we are finished with college and we are home for good, we try to make as many games as possible.  There are also a few guys in our youth group that play on the same team, so its fun to watch them play as well!
Night Games are ABSOLUTELY my favorite way to watch baseball.  There is something about watching a baseball game under the big lights!

Thomas and Amanda came to the game! GO UNCLE PAT!!

Aunt Lucy and Thomas after the game!! I sure do love cuddles from this sweet boy!!!

I am so glad it is baseball season!! Jake and I are really looking forward to watching a lot of baseball especially as it gets warmer!!

FINALLY Cuddly Trigger

A few days ago, I posted that Trigger was not very cuddly.  One evening last week when Trigger got home from playing with Jake's Grandmother's dog Bailey, all he wanted to do was cuddle with me.  I soaked up every minute!  He jumped up on the couch and just cuddled right up against me.  He was so sweet! Normally, he will cuddle with me for a minute or two and then he gets up and goes and lays by himself.  On this night he stayed with me during an entire movie! I sure do love my Trigger Boy!

Naughty Trigger

One day last week, Jake called me right when I got off work and all he said was, "You will not believe what YOUR dog did!" He would not tell me over the phone what happened.  Of course my mind started racing and I was thinking the worst.  When I walked in the door, all I had to do was turn the corner and look in the bathroom and I saw the mess!  All I could do was laugh.  Trigger has only done this twice since we have had him.  The first time the toilet paper was on the roll and he was just tall enough when he stood up on his hind legs to reach.  This time I had set the toilet paper on the bathroom counter (I had learned from the first time not to put the toilet paper on the roll again) and all I can figure is a piece of it was hanging down just far enough for him to reach.  Honestly, I should have known that Trigger was up to no good on this day.  While I was getting ready he was in to EVERYTHING!  He jumped into the laundry basket, he was trying to get trash out of the trashcan, and he was just being wild!  I'm not sure what got into him on this day, but I am so thankful my Trigger is sweet most days!

Relaxing Saturday

My man loves to fish as I have mentioned many times before and any spare minute he has, he wants to fish.  We were headed over to his parents house Saturday evening and the pond is about half way between our apartment and their house.  So, we left early and spent a few hours by the pond.

We let Trigger run off leash, which of course made me SUPER nervous, but he did great! He listened when he was called and did not bother the ducks too much.
This was Trigger's first time seeing a fish.  He actually got really close to smell it and the fish squirmed and hit Trigger in the nose with his tail.  After this experience Trigger would not look at or go close to any of the fish that Jake caught.
I love this picture! Trigger wanted to be right with Jake all the time, until Jake caught a fish, of course!  Then he would just run away! Isn't God's creation just beautiful?!?

On our way to Jake's parent's house we had our windows rolled down and Trigger wanted to stick his head out the window.  His hair was REALLY long and I thought it was funny how it looked with the wind blowing in his face.

I love Saturdays where we get to relax and be together!

Homemade Pizza...Well Sort Of

I have never made homemade pizza.  Growing up we would make mini pizzas on English Muffins, but not full size pizzas.  Pillsbury pizza crust was on sale so I thought we would give it a try.  I bought all the ingredients and we were set! (This is where the "sort of" part comes into play!  I didn't make anything from scratch!  I bought all the ingredients individually and then put them together to make a pizza! lol)

Jake rolled out the crust.  We tried to make it bigger, but the crust kept tearing.  So our pizza turned out to be a funny shape.  I have NO CLUE how pizza places get their pizza to be a perfect circle!  We tried tossing it up in the air (like you see at pizza places), we tried mashing it with our fingers, and a rolling pin.  None of these options made it easy to make a perfectly round pizza.

Anyway, we had fun in the kitchen.  We laughed with each new method we tried to make the pizza round.  Once we finally gave up and just decided to eat whatever shape it turned out to be, we added sauce, cheese, pepperoni, and bacon.
 Jake adding Cheese
Before Going into the oven!  Half the pizza was cheese (my half) and the other half had the pepperoni and bacon (Jake's half).
The final product!  It was very good!
I am so thankful to have a husband who is willing to help me in the kitchen.  I love the memories we have made laughing about making something new or messing it up together!  We really do make a great team!
