Children, Children Everywhere!

I enjoy taking Trigger to Jake's softball games.  One of the main reasons I do is to get him around children.  I want him to be comfortable around children of all ages.
I was walking him around before Jake's game so he would sit on my lap during the game and we came up on about 10 young girls playing duck-duck-goose.  As soon as they saw him they all yelled, "PUPPY!" and came running over.
Trigger was such a good sport.  He did not run away when all these little feet were coming toward him!  The girls were in his face, rubbing him, playing with him, picking him up, etc.  He was such a great puppy!  He gave them kisses, rolled over and let them scratch his belly, etc.
Trigger is becoming such a social little puppy and I am so thankful!  We are trying to socialize him as much as possible.  We want Trigger to be comfortable around children, so that when we have our own it will not be such a big transition.

NCSU vs. South Alabama

State's first home game of the season was against South Alabama.  The weather was beautiful as we tailgaited and had some fun family time!  I'm going to admit, I am not a huge football fan, but I do enjoy tailgaiting and watching the cheerleaders.  I like predicting what the cheerleaders are going to do just by the wait they are standing in their starting formation.  It really is entertaining!  Jacob LOVES football!  He grew up going to the state games and when we started dating, I fell right in.  Now, some of you may not know this...My dad is a HUGE UNC fan.  As you can imagine, that made for some fun games when UNC and NCSU played each other.  My dad is such a UNC fan that he would not let me bring a State shirt home.  So, for six years when I attended a State football game, I wore red, white, and black.  I did not officially have NC State attire.  I told Jake that I had to be true to my daddy until we got married.  So this was my first official home football game as a State Fan!
Let's Go Pack!
Helicopters flew over the field
While everyone else was cleaning, Jacob was playing football with the younger boys.  I can't tell you how thankful I am that my husband is athletic and that he has a heart for kids!  Two things that completely melt my heart!
NC State beat South Alabama 31-7.  It was a fun night!!!

Bible Study: James: Mercy Triumphs

I started this study with the ladies at our church last week and I absolutely love it!  I have completed Beth Moore bible studies before and I am excited to dig deeper into this one.  I am also excited to get to know some of the ladies of our church better.  I have been away at school for the past four years and our church has grown so much!  There are many ladies that I do not know!  I am excited to grow closer to them as we complete this bible study together!

Here is what the LifeWay website says about this study:
Bible scholars compare James to the prophet Amos.  In other ways James more closely resembles the book of proverbs than any New Testament book.  Come along with Beth Moore on a journey to get to know both the man and the Book of James.  You will never be the same again.

Tops in this study include:  joy, hardship, faith, reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility, and prayer.  Plus, Beth introduces a 5 tiered study approach that she has never done before.

Please Let Me Outside!

Is he not the cutest thing?  When Trigger needs to go outside, he runs to the door rings the bells that hang from the doorknob and then he sits at the door and looks back at us as if he is saying, "Please let me go outside."
I am so proud (and thankful) of how quickly he has potty trained.  He is such a smart puppy!

Happy Birthday Jody!

Happy Birthday to you!!
Happy Birthday to you!!
Happy Birthday dear Jody!!
Happy Birthday to you!!
Jody is one of my girlfriends that I have been friends with the longest!  We used to play together when we were little.  We would go over to each others house and have playdates.  As we grew up, we lost touch for a little while, but then when we went to high school and we rode the same school bus we became best friends all over again!  Jody was the girl that introduced me to FFA and I am so thankful to her for that!  Jody and I also went through youth group together and have MANY fun memories!  For example, we got locked in the bathroom together on one trip!

Happy Birthday Jody!!! I hope you have an AWESOME birthday!

Playa Mujeres, Mexico Honeymoon Day 5

After a relaxing day at the pool, it was time to come in and get ready for dinner.  Normally for dinner we would go to places that had outside seating because...lets be honest...we really didn't want to get ready and we could go in our swimsuits!  This particular night we had scheduled a special dinner.  It was the last night of our honeymoon and the resort gave us a honeymoon dinner at the restaurant of our choice.
While we were getting ready, I had been wanting to take a picture with our bath robes all week and didn't want to forget!  Funny thing is... you can see Jake's shorts in the picture! HA!

Going on a walk before dinner, Jake found a pretty flower and made me take a picture!
Waiting for dinner we asked someone to take our picture.  This stair case was beautiful!  The lobby is at the top and at the bottom there were a few small shops, a restaurant, and a big bar.  This place was huge!
Waiting for our reservation, we had a few more virgin strawberry daiquiris.
This was our honeymoon dinner.  Our table was in a secluded area in the restaurant so we could have a more private dinner.  All the other tables had only white table cloths, but we had rose petals and our waiter lit the candle.  This was so fun and I am glad we waited until the last night because we were able to talk about our whole week and reflect.
Look what we saw after dinner on our way back to our room!!!  These guys were ALL OVER THE PLACE!!  We saw them all week!  This time we finally had our camera and were able to take a picture!

Our honeymoon was AWESOME!!! Not a day goes by that we do not talk about or remember something that happened on our honeymoon!  Neither of us had ever been to a resort like this before, but I hope one day...not anytime soon...but one day we will be able to do something like this again!

Playa Mujeres, Mexico Honeymoon Day 4

Day 4 we enjoyed a little adventure.  At the water sports booth, they had a package called "Two for Two."  Two people could pick two water sports to do for a set price.  We decided we wanted to go parasailing and jet skiing.
Life Jackets on....CHECK!

Waiting for our turn!

Taking pictures while waiting for the other couple to finish their ride!
Finally our turn!
This is going to be fun!

UP!...
UP!!!
AND AWAY!!!
Big Splash!
Next was our Jet Ski rental!  This was so cool!  I have never driven a Jet Ski, so this was definitely an adventure!
And we are off!  Jake drove for half the time and I drove the other half!

Playa Mujeres, Mexico Honeymoon Day 3

Day 3 of our honeymoon was spent relaxing around the pool!  It was awesome!  The only plans we had was for our massage that was later in the afternoon.
This picture was taken off of our balcony.  We spent much time hanging out by the pool and on our terrace.

When we went in for lunch, we looked at the daily newsletter and Archery was one of the activities they were doing early afternoon.  Jake really wanted to do it, so off we went.  My form is not so good!
Look at that form!! Jake came in 3rd for the Archery contest!

Our Spa appointment was later in the afternoon.  After archery, we went back to the pool.  Drank a few virgin strawberry daiquiris and continued relaxing.  The big, white, circle building is the spa!  We spent about two hours there getting our couples massage!  Jake did not enjoy the couples massage as much as I did!  He enjoyed the scalp massage the best and I enjoyed the whole thing!

While we were getting our massage, it rained pretty hard for about 20 minutes.  When we were finished with our massage, we went back out to the pool and everyone had cleared out!  It wasn't time for dinner, so we walked around a took a few pictures
Look how pretty the clouds were after the rain as the sun was setting!  Playa Mujeres was such a beautiful place!

A little blurry, but still beautiful!

Playa Mujeres, Mexico Honeymoon Day 2

Jake and I had a deal while we were on our honeymoon.  We each got to pick something we really wanted to do.  Jake wanted to go Deep Sea Fishing and I wanted to do a couples massage.  Sorry, no pictures from the couples massage.  We took the day and relaxed by the pool until it was time for our appointment.

Anyway, back to deep sea fishing.  This was a really cool experience.  Putting my fears aside, this was something my husband wanted to do.  I mean, how many times does an individual get to go deep sea fishing in Mexico?
Cloudy Sun Rise
When we finally found the perfect spot, Jake was first up.
The fish gave him a pretty good fight...
but Jake won the fight!
Now its my turn!
This is the biggest fish I have ever caught!
Not touching it but I'll point at it! HA!
On our way back, the sun came out and the water became this beautiful turquoise blue!
On the way back!

Look at all those fish!!!  Despite what they look like here...these were beautiful when they were first caught.  They were such bright colors!

Thankfully neither of us get sea sick because the boat ride was pretty rough.  These were some of the biggest fish I have ever seen up close! What fun memories we made together while out at sea!
